Things come best in pairs - Between Montzen and Aachen West, freight trains are hauled by Class 55 diesel locomotives. These six-axle, nearly 2000-horsepower diesel-electric locomotives date back to the 1960s and are essentially counterparts of the M62 series, widely used in Eastern Europe.
